SR20 ve Exhaust - What Size is best?
I recently upgraded my motor from SR16ve to SR20ve. The car has on 2.5" catback piping with stock header.

What is the best size to use?

I am thinking that if the car was ok with 2.5" when it had in the sr16ve motor then 3" may be fine for the 2.0 motor. I am at about 175WHP now and want to get to about 190 soon. The car uses the sr16ve ecu with a Greddy to tune it.

Ideally I would want 2.75 (70mm) piping that the Japanese use for these e sort of hp and motor size. A muffler guy told me he could drop in a piece of 3" pipe and reduce it back to 2.5" at the back. Is there any logic to this? He said that would give me the best of all 3 worlds - low end power, mid and high. Your thoughts please

Do you guys recommend using the sr20de aftermarket header and port it to match the ve? The ve headers (performance) are hard to come by and very expensive.

I am looking at a header with a 2.5" outlet

And if your able to get the cams off the SR16VE, put them in the SR20VE.

They are already in the 20ve using the sr16ve ecu and tuned with emanage blue to add the fuel. 175whp but would be more satisfied with 180-190.

to come: header, JWT pop charger, and good clutch (only stock for now).

Peace
