SR16VE build
Hello guys,

I have made a rebuild from Sr20VE to Sr16VE -
by replacing :

SR16VE oem pistons
Sr16VE oem crank
Sr16VE oem Rods
added SR16VE N1 cams
Cometic 0,8mm gasket
And Remappable ECU "Hestec"

I seem to have lost some power somwhere, can somone tell me where have I gone wrong with the build ?
The dyno is showing 160hp and 151nm ( the original specs of Sr16ve show 175hp and 161nm )

Thank you in advance

You made a 2.0L a 1.6L. That is where the power is lost.

As told in many places tahat the Sr16ve N1 cams give you more power, does it have the same effect on sr16ve ?
are there some more differences on 2,0 and 1,6 engine? like injectors or something ?
I donĀ“t have any mass air flow meter on it , due the remappable ECU, so this problem should be out of the table.

The head is shaved on a 16ve iirc, you are lower compression than a standard 16ve going.this route.

N1 head is shaved. Non-N1 SR16VE are normal height.

N1 cams will not be able to replace power lost throughout the powerband from making that a smaller engine. N1 cams are better at flowing more air at a higher RPM to create more power in the upper/higher part of the powerband.

Besides turbos (and nitrous), the best replacement for power is displacement.

Are we comparing 175hp to 160whp?

That was another thing I was going to get to past the displacement. Wheel HP vs Crank advertised HP.

Baby steps, @mirrortints

This comparison is with the specs of the original motor,
I have on it lightweight flyingwheel and programmable ECU
I was runnng it on SR20VE with 205hp. before,
so It should be more power compare to the original specs - but I have less.
