Thread: In Need of VE distibutor cap and rotor

Bought a project car from a kid with a sr20ve motor in a 98 200 sx SE-R, He has a distributor cap from a g20 on it that works but really doesn't fit right. Where can I find a cap and rotor that is supposed to go on the VE motor, I have tried G-Spec but he doesn't have any, is there anyone else who carries them?

The rotors are fairly easy to find, someone will chime in with one or G-Spec will have them in stock in the near future.

The cap however is an entire different story, those things are rather rare and discontinued. Good luck finding one of those.

Get a DE distributor and cut the bottom ear off.

The proper auto parts store replacement cap for the VE distributor comes from a
[S]2002[/S] 2001 Nissan Sentra with the SR20 NOT the G20.

I thought the 2002 sentra came with the 1.8 or the 2.5 with the coils over the plugs. Which one has the sr20 motor in it?

The more i keep thinking about this, the more i Keep thinking that a VE cap would be from a Roller Rocker SR20DE engine. The same one in the 2000-2001 Sentra SE. You are correct about the 2002 Sentra have either the 1.8L or 2.5L engine.
