U13 Altima w/ SR20DE swap to SR20VE
Hello from the Philippines! I have this A/T U13 Bluebird Altima with SR20DE as its stock engine. I asked a mechanic who have experiences in engine swaps about putting a Neo VVL into my car. He said that there is no need to change my existing transmission, axles, and mounts if I wish to put a VE on it. He said all I have to do is to mount the engine, ECU sensors, harness, etc and I'm good to go. True or false?

I'm asking this because in our country most of the cars that do the swap are Sentras with GA engine, and the owners have to get SR tranny, axles, mounts for the car to run. But since I have a car with SR tranny, axles and mounts as its stock, I guess I no longer have to change them for the car to run? Any advice will be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Sounds true to me.

SR is an SR. So all exterior parts will bolt on with no issues.

Someone else with more experience can chime in.

In agreeing with him, but Sealti96 would know for sure.

Thanks for the replies! Will I have any issues if I retain my stock A/T? I mean will the VE's ECU read error codes since the car would have A/T of a DE? My plan is to get the motor, harness, sensors, ECU first, let it run in A/T for a couple of months while I'm still waiting for an SR manual tranny to arrive.
