I want to build a NA RWD SR20VE too. I have DET block and other stuff. Will try to get a nice chassis then.

Go for it, it will be great!

We are going to build a RWD setup pretty soon. Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure you can use a VE FWD engine as long as you fabricate your own motor mounts. The VE has oiling groves on the mains (GTIR also), already setup for the VE head (duh), oil squirters, 8cw crank on 20v or vet / 4cw on standard VE's. It just seems easier to make a couple motor mounts that try to convert the old engines over, also the VE's are a lot newer, super cheap and abundant.

You'd also have to fabricate a bracket for the trans as well since the starter doesn't align with the trans. I could be wrong but it's very little info out there for using a ve block in rwd

Correct it's a lot more work trying to use a VE block. Just pick up a rwd block you're going to be open to endless amounts of transmissions. From strongest to weakest cd009(6spd z33) > VG z32 5spd >SR/KA 5spd good for about 500whp weak 3rd gear synchro
