They don't? I recall using a Nismo pilot needle bearing on a fwd build way back when.

I would think the pilot bushing should be in there but I'm not sure if that's the cause of your issue.

The pilot bearing/bushing is only installed for clutch alignment purposes in our cars. Most people dont bother with them.

I see. People are going to have a more difficult time than normal helping you out with this problem because of the AWD trans. If you had a standard B13 trans, I would have just said get rid of it and swap a B15 trans in (I have one and love it) - but your situation is much more unique

what would swapping a b15 trans in do for his clutch disk?

The B15 trans is so much better/more durable, less likely for the disc to fail overall. Within reason of course. I ran an OEM B13 trans and blew 2 clutch discs, then grabbed a B15 trans for it and the new disc survived. )

This has to be the most preposterous theory I've heard thus far, lol.

Really? Why don't you enlighten us on your theory so we could understand.

I'm moreso curious why you think a B15 tranny swap is a "preposterous" idea. With a new transmission comes a new (likely bigger) clutch disk... no?

Maybe the splines on your input shaft are worn causing the disc to wobble slightly, over time causing the studs to shear. I'm just throwing an idea out there. I'd be changing clutches after the second time. Go to a sprung or dual disc setup.
