ve vs de power delivery
So a lot of local de's with lower hp outputs than some ve's are having the upper hand over the ve's. Any idea why this would be?

on the dyno the ve has higher hp. on the road the de has the edge..

I have that same feeling.

My friend and I were taking some corners, and He has a DE in his B13 and I have a VE in my B13, and he was dippin on the corners...I couldn't keep up. lol Dont under estimate DEs.....

Just talking in general but this particular example is a stock 20ve with 2.5" pipe, average headers & WAI.

The DE motors have regrinded cams. Anything from 264 to 276. Shaved heads, sometimes shaved blocks. Lightened flywheels, 2.25" pipes with decent DE headers and CAI/WAI.

What chassis for the ve? Tune? What is an average header?SSAC?

Sounds like the De have more work done to them. Possibly more torque, stock ve = de with cams

yeah the de's have more work done. This is an old car of mine I sold to a guy and he's taking some flack for being beaten by lesser hp de's.

Same chassis so not a factor. The de's are averaging about 135-140kw at the flywheel with those mods while the ve is doing 150kw at the fly.

However I think with the shaved head, decked block, higher duration cams and flywheel mods the de's are delivering the power much quicker and over a larger rpm range. I guess it's time for the ve to get some bolt ons.

But because of this the de guys think the ve is a bit of a junk motor. "All that hp but it's slow".......

sounds like your guys ve suck... cause even with the de having bolt on cant compete with ves ...inless someoe like that one guy tunes ur de's with aem ems. lol then i'd be concern but this thread seems useless lol

Anything on the street is a relatively vague way of gauging an x vs. y.

Now if it were on a track, I'd say something was wrong with the VE. Once mine is on the 2nd cam, its unlike any DE I've ever driven.
