Thread: VE No Spark Cyl #1

After letting my car sit for 6 hours after some spirited driving, I noticed it was running on 3 cylinders on next startup.

I have narrowed it down to cylinder 1, by deactivating spark for it in Nismotronic. I know that I get fuel on the cylinder, since my AFR's on startup are in the 9 region :/ (is usually 11). It also smells terribly rich!

What can cause sudden no spark on only one cylinder?

I measured the spark plug wires, looks fine to me;

Cyl 1: 11.4kOhm
Cyl 2: 9.3kOhm
Cyl 3: 7.3kOhm

I also checked the injectors (STi 500cc)
Inj 1: 11.7 Ohm
Inj 2: 11.5 Ohm

Nothing wrong as far as I can see... I'm off to bed now, ideas for tomorrow?

start with the basics like pulling the plug. could be the insulator cracked or something simple like that, then work your way to the dizzy.

Solved! Tightened the 10mm bolt at the ECU connection, car runs like it should again!
