the oil pump gears are all the same, but the b15 one has more ribbing in the casing than the standard sr20ve one. small difference but the oil pumps are the same money, so that got the nod.

it seems i fell victim to a dodgy fuel pump. car was running increasingly worse, then one day it didnt want to run at all. pictures are wisdom if you want to spot a fake, and have some scales handy.

fitted the cams the retainers, and shimmed the head to suit. used the air method to change the retainers. check out these tools

this screws into the spark plug hole to run the air into the cylinder. provides the base for the next bit.

neat lever action to compress the valvespring.

this sits on the retainer to compress the spring

new retainers fitted

cams in, shims were a bit tight on the intake

Awesome stuff, they are walbro pumps? I have just swapped to the AEM (320 lp/h I think one) , its great.

i guess a lot of guys have seem the 184c v2's idle. the v3's are very tame by comparison. this done straight after startup

next a comparison for everyone of two different dyno runs. same motor (different cams), same dyno , same tuner. first the n1's (winter time)

next the 184c's

finally the 2 graphs together. the 184c's are show better torque and hp figures below 7k. the n1's are 3kw better after that.

anyone struck this with 184c's? i've also noted previously that advancing the intake cam (generally good for a few hp) makes mine go backwards (with both cams)

double checked all my adds, and their right. 184c intake hicam lift is 12.89mm, 1.1mm more than n1's

opinion is still divided about potential valve stem seal to retainer clearance. aftermarket retainers were said to increase this clearance. good enough excuse to buy some i guess, though i will be asking my bottom end builders to measure this when the cams go in and the re-shim is done. some comparison photo's. rough measures indicate 1mm more clearance over standard retainers

@sss4me my head hurting loooli just read over i dont see the lash on kelford site how did you do the calculation #2 is that 40.40mm you measure the intake high lift? can you calculate or teach me how to do the kelford e cams?

Good little read on this thread, would you say the kelfords are worth the extra money or just stick with the n1's?
