I actually tried to set the base idle and couldn't get the motor to stay running with the TPS unplugged. I'll try messing with it again.
I also just checked the check engine light codes and I get two. One is P0115 Engine Coolant Temperature Circuit and the other is P0125 Insufficient Coolant Temp for Closed Loop Fuel Control. I installed a brand new aftermarket temp sensor (for a 96 G20), but aftermarket units have been known to be bad. I may go to Nissan and grab one for 96 B14 (no Infiniti dealer here, ha ha). Could this also be an issue of the ecu trying to reference between the cold air idle control valve and the temp sensor and seeing too large of a delta because the control valve isn't touching anything hot?
I could have two different issues going here, ha ha.
