A consult connection (ecutalk cable or nistune/plms cable or blatz cable) is only needed when using a basic type ecu with chips or a nistune ecu. The calum rt ecu uses usb as well as nismotronic. In one of the first posts IT SHOWS YOU WERE TO SELECT "Calumsult"

You also need the drivers installed so when you plug in your USB if brings up the 2 com ports nistune needs. Verify that ports are working and which ones they are when you connect to the PC under "System" then "Device Manager" then set the ports in Nistune. Im not sure if they will work set as "auto" in Nistune BUT anyways it will work! There is also a guide on how to get your calum rt ecu setup and working on this
forum.
