VE is Alive!!!
So I had a problem starting it, due to reverse fuel line hookup, after that my VE came to life!!! It shakes (prothane mounts) and makes all kind of noises (reused header gasket that VE came with as Greg run out of stock on the metal ones). I have a slight ticking noise at idle but that might be just an exhaust leak. Will put the wheels probably tomorrow and take it for a drive. Still gotta install gauges and wire up VVL

VEs are noisy beasts and I was worried about the ticking on mine when I first got it too. My one had been professionally lashed & cams degreed but was still noisy up top.

Don't worry, once you've heard a few you'll realise they all do it

The noise went away, and the only ones remaining are the: injectors (normal up top) and an exhaust leak on the secondary

Update: Exhaust Leak fixed!

First Drive Notes:

Car feels solid as a tank! Prothanes and new front ES sway bar bushing tightened the car considerably. Now, the JWT pp is stiff, much stiffer than stock and grabs low (run out of cable adjustment so will have to do the cable mod). Cams are not hooked up properly yet - for some reason the Summit RPM box does not pickup the ECU pin#2 rpm signal well - will play with that later. I only took it to 3500rpm and it runs well, fidanza helped with the rpm, feels light on its feet - can't wait till the VVL kicks in!
Small annoyance (that's all that is) when the engine is cold, the rpm goes to 3K then settles to 1K after a min or two, but cold engine idling the idle jumps from 1k to 1.5K (twice a second), I know I do not have any vacuum leaks, so not sure what that is - mind you this goes away when it warms up. Other than that, engine sounds different, more metallic sounding than my DE (had a slight rod knock), I like it so far
My Fuel pressure is about 36-38psi at idle, pressure rises during idle when I rev it up to about 42psi. Is that the correct pressure?

Set the cold idle lower, as 3k is higher than normal. When cold, which is never really cold in Fl, mine will rev no more than 1700 and gradually goes down.

My VE is very noisy, but exhaust noise overwhelms it unless my hood is open.

Is there any procedure for cold idle setting on a VE? Or just play with the adjustment screw at the bottom of the TB?

Both JWT PPs I've used have been as light or lighter than OEM. Are you sure your cable isn't old//stretched/frayed?

Plus I didn't run out of adjustment.

It might be the cable, I lubricated it with graphite lube before I put it in, but I know with the same cable it was lighter with OEM pp (2 months ago). Maybe the cable is old...
