N1 Engine re-build advice
Hey guys don't post much but after some advice.
Blew my N1 engine last week so looking for some advice on stroking it out to a 2ltr displacement.
I have an sr20ve crank, rods, pistons, vet headgasket, 20ve sump pan and crank girdle but i want to know what would the best combo be parts wise for a reliable 2.0ltr setup?
Would compression be too high running these internals with an N1 head?

Any advice would be much appreciated.
Cheers.

Easiest thing to do is drop the N1 head complete with N1 cams, manifold, throttle body on a 20VE block.

Powerland ECU fail.

Use the N1 pistons over the 20ve if they aren't damaged.

Pretty much.
Can I use the sr16 block or would it be easier to use the sr20 block. Should I uprate valve springs and retainers while im at it?

sr16,sr20 same same. different crank n rods. gunna want a standalone ecu if you want to retain those 8 injectors with the upgraded displacement.

Yeah will be running an omex 600 to sort that.

So what's gone wrong?

N1 springs retainers will be fine they are softer than normal ve springs, designed for the N1 cams.

I would ditch the rear injectors and just run 4x 370s

Perfect cheers Sam. I havent had time to open it up yet but will get at it this weekend. Sounds like rod knock so im presuming its the rod on the second cylinder where I had trouble with the injector filling the cylinder on installation. Hopefully the heads okay. I'll know more at the weekend.

You reckon compression will be okay running the above setup?
