Thread: DE A/C compressor on VE

Been searching but unable to find anything solid.

The AC compressor on my SR20VE engine has started whinning and i'm told that it's basically going bad. Can the DE ac compressor work on VE, even with mods? I'm able to find DE compressor but VE are a lot scarce. Thx

When i swapped in my VE i just kept the DE compressor hooked up.
i think the bracket was different but if you still have the DE just swap the bracket and you should be fine.

Where your from? I have one and dont need it anymore. Dont know in what condition it is because it was on my engine when i bought it but never used it. Took it of the engine staight away.

Only thing is that i live in europe so shipping it to the states for example is maybe a bit expensive.

oh I see, had in a GA which is long gone. Guess I'm going have to get a DE compressor as well as the DE bracket. And this should hock up right to the VE block right?

im pretty sure i still have the ve bracket, let me check to see what is different to be 100% certain and i will respond to let you for for sure.

I've used DE compressors on DET & VE swapped cars with no issue.

The secret is to know which lines it uses for your High and Low pressure sides.

It can vary between different compressors. I have a compressor I can ship to you for $90, but we need to get those facts first.

I can confirm that I just installed the AC compressor from my 1996 g20 onto an sr20ve without a problem. I'm also using the stock AC lines from my G20 without any problems.
