Thread: power steering eliminator HELP

Ordered a power steering eliminator at G-spec the other day, but he can't confirm if the part will be available any time soon (or maybe even never...)

Anyone an alternative solution?

Setup:

SR20VE without power steering and without A/C
Gspec pulleys on crankshaft and water-pump

run the pump in a loop maybe? Or try and find a smaller belt for now

really want to get rid of the pump completely. but without it or a alternative pulley there is no more tension adjustment.

but nothing for the sr20

Does CS still make them?

you can easily gut your current pump out so it will act just like the expensive elimination kit you just ordered. you will still have full belt tensioning ability.

-pull the ps pump off
-pull the bracket off
-pull the housing behind the bracket off
-you will see some metal fin inserts
-tap the pump on your hand/leg/soft surface and they will fall out
-put everything back together and mount it
-take the lines running off your rack and pinion and loop them. make sure its filled with fluid before you do that.
-put some ATF in the gutted pump and refill the pump every 3 oil changes or so

ive been doing this for 4 years now with success.

Check the for sale section. A member on here called Brownspeed sells an alternator relocation bracket that mounts the alternator behind the motor where the ps pump usually goes. I'm running this setup and loving it.

@ Docter G: Noticed the oil filter is mounted different in your pic. Any reason for that towards the alternator relocation?

Yes you need to run the high port de oil filter mount. The ve one will interfere with the alternator relocation.
