My lawyer (brother) told me I probably do have a valid claim after seing the photos and not to touch anything under there until they send someone out to look at the car. So not going to pull off the pan at the moment, will see what happens. If it was just aesthetic it would be one thing, its getting low oil pressure, I think the pump is also damaged ----> overheating ----> headgasket may have went. the oil has a strange color to it.

even though it was idling for only like 10 min.

I'll be curious to hear how this works out for you. With the time passing, I'm not so sure you'll get any justice but I hope you do. Totally sux I guess this is why my hubby doesn't like letting anyone tow any of our stuff and ends up getting our own truck and trailer when a tow is required for anything.

I've had AAA tow me from a couple of track events and have nothing but praise for them. They are trained to tow anything from low riders to Teslas. Had the Premiere membership so the 50 mile tows were free. How deep is the pan dented in? Is it major?

It's pretty bad. This wasn't towed thru AAA, it was Nationwides insurance option of free roadside assistance, like 20 bucks extra per year or something.

Even though its Sunday night, I called Nationwide and explained the situation. They took it very seriously and I spoke to several people. A good sign is the person told me that they are NOT processing this as a regular claim, i.e. - if someone rearended me, but its getting kicked up to some other investigative department and I will hear back from someone within 2 business days. They will be sending someone out to look at the car.

I also told the person that they just need to find the tow truck with the yellow/gold paint on either the bed and/or the arm that pulls the car up (forgot the name of that thing) because that's gotta be it. Now I'm sure the tow companies have multiple trucks with the same colors or different, but surely they'd have a record of which particular one was dispatched to a particular location and who was operating it.

This sucks. Already almost July and haven't driven it at all since early May.

the pics are kind of small but it doesn't look all that serious to me.

I was kinda thinking the same thing after looking at the pics but the OP has the best view really. We'll see what happens from here

doesnt look bad at all if only you knew what the pans look like when they get imported lots of hammering and massaging to make them work

dont know how you can say the oil pump is damaged without taking the oil pan off

My indicated oil pressure was way low and the oil light (dummy one) was on for the brief few minutes it was running on Saturday and it began to overheat within a few minutes after it was started.
