Altima distributor on a VE
Has anyone attempted installing an Altima (KA24DE) distributor on a VE? From looking at it in pictures, it looks as if it may be a fit.
My VE distributor has a crack in the housing, and I am curious about the Altima one for the following reasons:
-External coil
-Cheap and easy to find
-Should be a breeze to wire up
-One of the most compact Nissan distributors
The only thing I am not sure about is if it would require any special steps to get it at TDC.
The one visual fault is that the plugs would point toward the front. Or is it possible to flip the cap the other way?
The cap can also be replaced with one from a 240SX, for those who would rather have the plugs parallel.
