VE t-stat housing replacement - DE doesn't work, Matej saves the day
For the archives/searches that come up in the future:

If you have SR20VE and need a new t-stat housing you need to use one from an 00-01 Sentra SE or 00-02 G20

I typed in just 1992 Sentra SE-R on Rockauto.com, and they have THIS waterneck outlet for $36:

However, it lists applications as:

INFINITI G20 (1991 - 1999)
NISSAN 200SX (1995 - 1998)
NISSAN NX (1991 - 1993)
NISSAN SENTRA (1991 - 1999)

That's why I'm unsure of what to get, I know my 1999 Sentra SE-L did NOT fit the VE..

Does anyone reading this have a VE waterneck outlet they want to sell?

You're looking for the water inlet. The VE inlet is the same as the one used on the '01 B15 SE and the '00-'02 P11 with RR motor.

Part # 13049-2J200

Really? RockAuto lists the part as "outlet" - guess it depends on your point of view, like is the coolant flowing out of the radiator and into the motor or vice versa

Thanks so much for your help!!!!!!!!! I am going to hit the pull yard later to see if I can find one!! If not I'll see what Nissan wants for a new one.

Quick question though, since you said '01 Sentra SE, I assume that means the '00 SE doesn't fit? Or did Nissan not make them that year, crap I forget. Anywhooo, I just took a quick pic of the one that was on my '99 SE-L:

Here is the RockAuto part for a 2002 G20:
.

Not bad for $22 and change. Although I'm sure Nissan wants like $120. Will hit up the yards for an OEM replacement.

Rock Auto is just using generic terminology, as it is application dependent. It is refered to as the water inlet because the water enters the engine throught this inlet. It exits throught the passenger side (outlet). Technically speaking, the water flows in and out of both the engine and the radiator.

A new water inlet from Nissan (the pt. # I listed) should probably cost ~$45 depending on the source.

Yes, the '00 Sentra will have the same part as well. So, 2000/2001 Sentra w/ RR motor, and 2000-2002 G20 w/ RR motor.

I see that you also mentioned the Thermostat housing in your thread title. Do you need the T-stat housing as well? Keep in mind that the VE and the RR T-stat housing are different part numbers. I am not sure if the RR T-stat housing (on the back side) will bolt up to the VE water pipe.

So, the VE/RR inlets are the same - 13049-2J200

However..

The VE and RR T-stat housings are different part numbers:

VE - 11061-2J211
RR - 11061-2J201

Maybe buying an entire used VE thermostat assembly (housing and inlet) off of the forum would be a cheaper idea. Then, you could just pop in a new t-stat and be set.

Hmm I'll have to check- but thank you very much for the info it is greatly appreciated. If you see any assemblies come up maybe post here and let me know.

Here's another question, what about the other side, are they the same? I found my old '92 DE passenger side waterneck (I don't know whether to call it an inlet or outlet at this point, haha). Here's a pic of it:
.

.
Is that the same as the VE? It looked the same when I brought it out to the VE and did quick side by side comparison, just the VE is a nicer color (silver-ish). It figures its probably the same but the broken bolts are on the one that's not.

Edit: nevermind. Another forum member had the parts I needed
