No, you are mixing two things - exhaust size and collector choke size. Anything over aprox. 2.5" choke will lose big numbers. Size after the choke is different story.

I do like 3" exhaust idea, bud this car already had 2.75" exhaust so is the rest of the downpipe after the choke. It wont hurt power at our power level, maybe very little numbers that does not concern us.
@sss4me: My opinion is that its always better to have smaller than too big choke. This one is little bit less than 2.5" which is totally ok in my opinion.
