Modified SSAC style exhaust manifold
We modified SSAC style exhaust manifold without EGR and extra O2 bungs, added 2x 50mm tubes for downpipe, custom collector is aprox 62mm and goes to 67mm exhaust. Hope it will work little bit better over stock SSAC and get close to Honda Tri-Y numbers.

Big thanks goes to @gio94sr20ve for the tip!

When will you be Dynoing?

Probably when Nistune ECU comes in. Car has new rebuilded VE with SR16VE pistons, N1 cams + cam gears, Supertech valve springs, little headwork, modified stock IM with 70mm TB.

Not bad, but why just 62mm? That's a hair under 2 1/2 inches.. and the flex pipe, unless its just the lighting, looks like corner is too 'sharp' ?

If you know what purpose of collector size is, then you know why its "only" 62mm.

I have no idea. Ever since the thread that said a full 3" exhaust will "make power everywhere and lose nowhere" on a totally stock SR20DE, and people had dyno charts proving it, who knows. I remember being concerned about choosing a 2.25" or 2.5" cat-back exhaust on my 91 SE-R that already had intake, header, timing bump, cams etc back 12 years ago. So apparently the "losing backpressure" thing was at least partially a myth.

be guessing that you think that at this headers length and configuration, 62mm is the ideal "choke" size, based on previous results from other headers.

Nice work, looking foward to seeing the results.

No, you are mixing two things - exhaust size and collector choke size. Anything over aprox. 2.5" choke will lose big numbers. Size after the choke is different story. I do like 3" exhaust idea, bud this car already had 2.75" exhaust so is the rest of the downpipe after the choke. It wont hurt power at our power level, maybe very little numbers that does not concern us.

@sss4me: My opinion is that its always better to have smaller than too big choke. This one is little bit less than 2.5" which is totally ok in my opinion.

I just meant in general, all this talk of how large in diameter exhaust passages should be and scavenging etc.
