BC vs. Supertech valve springs and retainers
It seems that most people go with the BC0240 kit when upgrading their springs and retainers. Is there a quality/performance reason for this, or is Brian Crower just a more popular brand among the SR20 community? I was about to purchase a set, but then I decided to also look into Supertech, specifically the SPR-2035-2022 kit. In the end I am just looking to have a bit more peace of mind revving with N1 cams, which I am sure both kits should be able to do without a problem.
Does either kit have any advantage over the other?

From my experience, I will say that I would never buy ANYTHING from BC. Their (or whatever company that makes the product for them) quality control sucks and I've seen too many variances and failures to ever warrant their cheaper price. I've seen valve springs come in with varying spring rates (same set), I've seen their SR cams have a lobe separation angle variance of up to 5° on the same physical cam (makes tuning a nightmare), and I've seen both SR cams and Honda cams break apart at the front end when bolting the cam gears on to factory spec. Buy at your own risk, lol.

I personally run supertech springs on my built S13 RWD motor for the past 16k miles or so (I rev to 8.5k), with zero issues from the springs.

That is good to know, especially since for the VE application the Supertech kits are actually cheaper.

We've used BC's up to 10,000rpm with no issue.

BC has PAC Racing Springs make there springs. PAC Racing springs is an offset company owned by Peterson springs, the US largest, privately-owned spring manufacturer.

I personally use Supertech.

If I were to buy new ones, right now, I would purchase SPR-2035-2022 detailed here.
