When I had my side exit exhaust on a VVL car a few years ago I had an eye opening experience doing that.
As I was passing an old lady ,the car hit VVL and trumpeted right at her drivers door.It scared her so bad she jerked the wheel to the left(swerved at me).I am sure thats a rare incident,but it sure made me think about it after that..lol
You should dyno the car back to back with it open and closed.I would be interested to see the gains.

Got my exhaust cutout from @morgans432 and it is awesome... Very noticeable power increase just from this cutout and wow does it sound AMAZING when VVL hits! lil 6k+ rev is enought to scare anyone within 20 ft...
same instance with old granny...only she went right...jumped the curb...man i was like damn.good thing she didnt go left and hit me..
