I believe my 2.3 made around like 50whp more on the big lobes back when I was having issues with vvl working. Made like 22X on the low cam, fixed the vvl, and made somewhere around 270's. Its been 2 years since then so I forget the exact figures. VVL is the money maker.

No weight reduction the motor is completely stock like the day if came off the assembly line bolt ons are ebay header, n60 maf, wai, jk-tuning chipped ecu, msd 6al, msd window switch, fidanza lightweight flywheel, exedy oem clutch kit and a 3" custom header back exhaust to a vibrant muffler no cat and no resonator because race caaar.

Yes it can and it will look at my mods list above its very very basic my motor is completely stock I can't wait to drop a set of N1 cams in there then its game over lol.

my current mods are sr16 cams, sr16 flywheel, gspec aluminum crank pully, stock p11 maf, stock header, stock exhaust, CM FX400 cluck kit, wai, nistmotronic SA tunable ecu in the mail.

Exactly you already ahead of the game compared to me besides your stock exhaust toss that in the trash lol. I learned that these ve motors respond well to a 3" exhaust they just love to breathe man.
