The last car I played with a month ago gained 6whp from activating at 5000 to 5400 during tuning on a dyno jet using Nismotronic. (Single activation) It had a N1 Cam and 3inch exhaust with megan header.
Have mine both activating at 5000. I used to have problems when I had them set at 5500 with falling off vvl between shifts from time to time. Ever since o switched it to 5k , its been great. I will have to experiment on my other b13 when its done since that one is turbo (vvl+t) to see what rpm point is best and to see if I can benefit from individual activation.
your probably going to get mixed votes between stock and n1 cams. for n1 cams, 5000 +or- a little for both seems to be the most popular with stock internals and normal bolt ons. i did a lot of searching and asking, and talked with Greg V about it when he came to seattle.

How is your acceleration at around 5500RPM?
Better than it was before the dyno and i did not change any fuel settings down low, just cam switching. No dip in power until after peak. The dyno graph is smooth all the way up.
