If you fear this may happen go DET. i love my VE that made 206whp before a port & polish but to get more power id have to spend more, a lot more and a lot of time. You wont hit 250whp in a NA VE without spending about 5k in mods, internals etc. assuming you do it all yourself. Just the header i have was $800.

Let's see (and this doesn't include the VE motor itself which is usually what, $800?)
Just the bolt on parts alone, here's what I have that made 206WHP in my VE:
N1 cams/valve springs = $700ish
Good header = $800-$1,000
3" exhaust and remove the cat if you can = $400-$600
Intake, cold air/warm air, whatever = $100-$200
Lightweight flywheel, pressure plate and clutch = $600
ECU tune = ??
Oil catch can = $100?
G-spec pulleys = $200
Thermal intake spacers = $ forget how much
N60 MAF = $60
MSD ignition box = $150
That's just the basics, and it's like $4k, not including the SR20VE motor, and not including stuff like eliminating power steering and getting the Sentra trim model "E" rack etc, port and polishing the head etc. To get to 250WHP, you're talking that amount all over again, or close to it.
Turbo is a whole different game.
