VE swap and save for ITB's. Will be the best money you can spend. Trust me.

Whatever the max hp that a t28 can support. I say T28 kit, N62 maf and subbie sti injectors 520cc I think. You will max out the turbo way before the maf and injectors its been proven time and time again that these VE motors love boost.

I'v made 328whp ona stock gti-r t28 & det, you would make the same on a VE. Now put a bigger turbo on, and you can make substantially more power.

I know how this sounds, but u will eventually get used to a 200whp VE w/ all the bolt ons, to get more power you then need to get into advanced modding, which will be costly. If you fear this may happen go DET. i love my VE that made 206whp before a port & polish but to get more power id have to spend more, a lot more and a lot of time. You wont hit 250whp in a NA VE without spending about 5k in mods, internals etc. assuming you do it all yourself. Just the header i have was $800.

^^^ I highly agree with the above post, DDing my 200whp VE is just getting plain boring. Get a DET or boost your VE. That's the road im heading down.

$5K in mods are you crazy? A basic chipped ecu, subaru sti injectors, N62 maf, used T28 kit off the forum, intercooler and piping and front mount used off the forum, 3" exhaust and muffler all used off the forum and a decent clutch will be nowhere close to $5K dude you dont have to build a VE to make and safely run 300+whp

Yes thank you. I was referring to staying N/A and trying to make 250WHP in SR20VE. It's relatively easy to make 200-210WHP but that extra 40 to make 250whp will not be easy.

Let's see (and this doesn't include the VE motor itself which is usually what, $800?)
Just the bolt on parts alone, here's what I have that made 206WHP in my VE:

N1 cams/valve springs = $700ish
Good header = $800-$1,000
3" exhaust and remove the cat if you can = $400-$600
Intake, cold air/warm air, whatever = $100-$200
Lightweight flywheel, pressure plate and clutch = $600
ECU tune = ??
Oil catch can = $100?
G-spec pulleys = $200
Thermal intake spacers = $ forget how much
N60 MAF = $60
MSD ignition box = $150

That's just the basics, and it's like $4k, not including the SR20VE motor, and not including stuff like eliminating power steering and getting the Sentra trim model "E" rack etc, port and polishing the head etc. To get to 250WHP, you're talking that amount all over again, or close to it.

Turbo is a whole different game.
