Looking for advise from anyone who has replaced pistons in a Sr20ve here.
I'm about to strip down a VE ( it was going but kilometers travelled unknown ), to replace the head and intake manifold with improved versions.
I have decided to replace the pistons with some sr16ve N1 pistons to increase the compression a bit. This has expanded to rings, acl race bearings, and front and rear seals.
I know i have to notch these pistons and will be getting them balanced, and hoping to only have to hone the bores.
My question is, what else (without going to an all out re-build) would you consider, and what (if any) extra machining work should i be considering?
I'm thinking maybe chain, guides, water pump, and check oil pump. Polish crankshaft.
Will be a daily street driven motor, with Nismotronic SA controlling the lot.
