JC custom 4-1 header
this is a header i made for a very good friend of mine, he was in need of something better than a ssac on his ve so i went with a tri y first but the bend where all types of fucked up from bottoming out so i tossed that project and decided to go with something simple and inexpensive. i made this header with regular aluminized pipe because i had some on hand at work , i made all the runners one piece for a cleaner look, the pipe is 1 3/4 all the way down where it goes into a split 2.25 or 2.0 collector, i made the entrance to the primaries about 1.75-2.0 by bumping them with my bender so it doesnt have a restiction in that area, it should flow very nicely but i want all of your opinions on it. in the future ill make another with stainless steel and take more time mocking things up. here she is

Looks almost identical to the budget asp spec wise. Just different pairing. Good work!

Props to more people out there making their own parts. BUT without that dyno you have no idea if your ahead or going backwards.

I'm kicking myself for not getting on the dyno before I got my custom header installed. Aleast I had a virtual dyno (which I feel is very accurate because I always do many runs and both ways to make sure its accurate)

Yea they are crushed but they almost looked mendral. There is barely any crush on the pipes. The only problem I see is rust issues in the future but with good paint that will be the last thing to worry about. If I was to make another to sell I don't see it being anymore than 400 and that's most likely shipped

not sure if thats gonna be better than the SSAC. The HS 5 which the SSAC ripped off was a damn good header. ASP budget struggled to beat it and yours is not as good as the budget.

Good work on making something yourself.

Not everything has to be compared to everything else. If the header works for him than thats all that matters, no need to bash him for what he did or did not do.

On a intake/stock cam engine maybe.

The ASP budget blew the SSAC out of the water on every high comp 2.0L tested in the north east, especially after 7000rpm.
