Dude Oregon emissions is a cake-walk.

I know it is, lol, I used to live in CA! I haven't had emissions in almost 10 years now though, so I just want to make sure everything is good to go.

why would the ve have trouble passing deq if run your stock g20 ecu/259cc injector/maf combo? put the resistors in for the egr temp sensor, advance base timing to 22* and use the msd (or similar) switch(s). your car will run fine. hell, you don't even NEED the switch (s) for deq. me thinks you'll need a cat though
stay far..far away from jwt in this case (save your hard earned $$ for stuff that makes power, not loses power)

I already paid for the JWT, lol. After the retune, it'll be about half the price of the standard JWT tune. So not too bad. I'll be getting an RPM switch as soon as I can. I'll still have my stock ECU, maybe I'll save it for a nismotronic setup for a later date or something.

Thanks for all the input guys (and gals if any, lol).

dont be penny wise but pound foolish.

the nismotronic will be way more useful than helping you to pass some emissions test.

go with the customizable option. lil more now, but youll thank yourself in the future

But with the step down harness, I don't think the OBDII port will work, unless someone knows from experience that it's the contrary. I need that to work for emissions. This is just my DD, so having the adjustability isn't as important to me to be honest. Not right now at least. Maybe when I have more funds to mess around with the car. I have a standalone in my RWD SR car that's my highly modified project, and I definitely agree that having the adjustability is awesome. I only have a limited amount of money to get the P10 back on the road and to be reliable. The JWT ecu already shipped too, so it's a little late now, ha ha.

i ran the stock ecu with 259 inj/maf and my car ran like crap. put the 333inj back in and ran fine for 3 months till i sent the ecu out to jwt. i didnt have my wide band in then so i couldnt tell what it was doing but i would lose power around 3k and itd pick back up at 4-4.5k. but if he did that he could not engage vvl or it would lean out. and jwt ecu's make good power, mike kojima made 200whp on a jwt ecu.

Stock g20 obd2 ecu with stock de injectors run lean. Ve injectors run a bit rich. Either way stock g20 obd2 ecu, untouched won't pass emissions since the obd2 monitors can't make heads or tails of the different engine condition.

we went through this at least 7 years ago
ecu-jwt VE vs stock dyno results!! - SR20 Forum

you said it yourself it ran fine for 3 months with 333cc injectors. although this is off topic from the o.p.
i just don't like seeing ppl waste the hard earned $$ on jwt ve ecu's

JWT ecu was a mistake but it won't hurt your emissions. EGR resistor, set timing to 15btdc, tune up (fresh plugs, fuel filter etc.) get the car good and warm and do it. I bet it will pass easily.

I passed twice with a T28 and a high flow cat but it was a 92 SE-R. JDM motor no EGR etc. Guy popped the hood and was like "everything looks ok here." That was North Portland off Columbia Blvd.
