going to tuners wednesday. have run it for about 2hrs and feels so much stronger then before. the tune is way of around the mid range , it is very noticable. if i get 180-200whp i will be happy. original engine made 163whp when first in that was stock standard.

ok, bit of a update.

buggy is now at the tuners, engine is all run in. and running really well so my tuner says.
just waiting on the wiring guy to make a few changes so we can switch the cams at different times. currently switching at 5000rpm both of them going to try exhaust 200rpm before intake .
so monday next week we should be able to do some power runs.

my aim is for 185whp.

Ok, we have a problem I need help engine is running great but my power is shit 135whp that's ten less the old engine, compression is 220psi all four cylinders. It sounds strong as tune is spot on. My question is only one thing has really changed that is n1 cams. And a new timing chain question , could a sr20 de chain fit. And my timing be right but wrong for ve it was a oem chain. Are they all the same in terms of timing marks

i see you got a roller chain, afaik a de/ve chain is the same. you need to change the bottom crank gear to suit the chain if you got a p12 bottom end. but i guess you did that already.

You can switch over to the VE chain on the 20V if you need to use adjustable cam gears.

Yes I'm running a ve chain, but does anyone know if a ve timing marks on the chain are the same as de chains I know they the same length but I'm led to believe that the marks are different and the K that might be my problem

the timing should the same. 20 links should be between intske and exhaust cam gear.

timing has been checked. all is correct still only made 135whp. so going to try a stock intake it might be looking for a longer intake runner. any one have a n1 manifold in australia they wanna lend me.

something is wrong here. 100kw's at the wheels is SR20DE territory. you've got itb's,compression,n1 cams, so you should have like 150kw or more.

i reckon in all of Aus there is 3 sr16ve n1 manifold set up's,two of which (including mine which is still coming) are with xcessive plenums, and maybe 2-3 n1 set up's in N.Z. The lower runners are no longer being made.

Pten (member here) has some n1 manifolds in stock (he's in N.Z.) if your interested.
