Thread: Nismo N1 Cams

I have just picked up some "Nismo N1" Cams. Helped out a mate by buying his top end so he had money to put his car back on the road.

Does anyone have any information regarding these cams? We did a quick measure up and compared to regular n1 cams but couldn't see any difference.

Part numbers for these were 13020-RP800 & 13020-RP801 but are no longer available.

I was told Nismo Cams were prototype cams before they renamed them N1 but i have nothing to back that up.

What are the colors on the cams?

I was told they had big problems with these cams, they would cause the valves to hit each other so they discontinued them.

Same colours as normal. Never heard of that before, these have done at least 30k till the last owner miss-shifted. you would think if the valves make contact that we would get different measurements.

well every cam should have its own color. I have the N1 cams that are for no PS pump and one of the cams are yellow.

wow nice, can i have some pics? Guessing they are slightly more aggressive?

Means my statement on first post could be right then. Nismos were the early versions n1's hence keeping their colour?

yeh i saw somewhere that stated the 2 different n1 cams thats with and with ps.... the nismo i read was for the racing pulsars and was made for specific customers.... one was on the forum being sold but the guy never posted the verified info on the cam.... so far for me the nismo n1 seem to be a unicorn.... if it exists then there would be 3 sets of n1s made

There was afaik from my resources out of japan 3 different type of race cams made, only available to race teams.

If they are genuine nismo spec race cams, they wont fit in a regular head. They need reliefs and cut out, have put my hands physically on them.

There was also from what i can tell early and late cam, and also Non P/S cam.
