Thread: Cam gear brand and setting advice

Alright guys this is an advice type question lol . I plan on swapping a 20ve into my 91 se-r .. full inteiror bone stock .. no cruise factory but ps and ac will be retained. Its not an extravagant build plan but need advice on cam gear settings amd which cam gears you recommend heres the run down of the planned mods and then goals

Sr20ve motor
3inch intake with velocity stack and dryflow cone filter
3" exhaust
Tri-y header (modded honda or track forged if it comes out in time)
N1 cams
Supertech springs and retainers
Nismotronic real time ecu for tuning

My goals are not really peak power im willing to lose a little peak whp for a broader powerband and more upper midrange so with that what cam gears would you buy and what kinda settings do you recommend ? Thanks in advance guys

alot of guys got just the cheap circuit sports, but knock yourself out with some tomei's or bc's if you like.

alot of guys end up +5,-5 on cam timing, but there are variables like exhaust to consider. the best way to know is for it to be done on a dyno.

I like JWT or CS cam gears.

I realize dyno is best but basically looking for a baseline lol .. a starting point if you ... and also how does cam gear settings affect vvl activation points? Any tips on that would be awesome aswell .. again it will be tuned properly but jist looking for a decent starting point since im only home 4 days a month chances are it wont be dynod right away

I may boost it later but right now I just wanna play with all motor since the fastest all motor car I have had was a simple bolt on jdm gst in a 93 civic si hatch with a chipped ecu lol .. ive turbod many hondas and my buddy has a det swapped b13 so all motor is just what I want to play with atleast till next summer when I pay the last 8500 on my frontier lol
