sr20ve makes no power!
Finally got the motor up and running a few weeks ago car runs, idles well. Once I get rolling there is no hesitation she just doesn't wanna move. Things get a little better when vvl kicks in but my stock DE had more power. Compression was 179-169-179-180. There is a basic tune on it but even with a stock DE runs the same (obviously no vvl).Tried timing 17*, 19* etc but not much change. Recently changed the TPS and its positioned within spec. Coil went bad and that was replaced as well. Motor is stock with only pulleys and a light weight flywheel. Am I missing something?

What ECU are you using?

You are missing a header and exhaust to open that bitch up. My VE on stock ecu, Maf, header, exhaust with jwt flywheel only made 160hp. Which is the equivalent to a s4 cammed DE. Open it up and you'll feel the difference.

ECU is stock with a chip on it. Was chipped by the same guy that did my friends SER rally car. THere is a cheapo header and full exhaust on it. I am making no where near 100 hp I would bet. Cant even pull out of turns in 2nd gear. Was just reading the compression # on the forum and surprised to see people get numbers in the 200+. Will do a compression test with all plugs out and more cranks tomorrow.

Motor was warmed up but throttle not fully opened

Was the chip redone for the VE engine or was the chip done for a DE engine?
