p11 head On a p12 bottom end
I have the chance to buy a brand new p12 bottom end and wondering will my p11 head bolt On? And what other differences are there? P12 bottom brand new UN started from a create motor that head was removed. also is engine mounting the same On p11 vs p12v??

Yes it will bolt right on both block are physically the same but p12 has 11:1 cr vs. 10.3:1 cr and 8cwc vs. 4cwc.

What he said but also the timing chain is different, you'll need to change the cam gears to p12 or the crank gear to p11 with p11 chain.

ok cool sounds good. i want to fit some je pistons eagle rods and maz work head and main stud kit with acl race bearings bolt my head on from the p11 get it ported polished and fit my bc spring kit and the n1 cams i have coming. and go racing. and then a new oil pump.
ok cool so just need to chase up a p11 crank timing gear and job done. i just wanted a stock block unused. that way standard parts go straight in. no need to measure stuff and get bored and honed etc .

what are peoples thoughts on head gasket? what thickness this is a n/a race motor.

And I have one of those brand new P12 bottoms with a P11 head. Works a treat! 50,000kms now.

i will only be using the block and the crank. the rods and pistons will not be used in this motor.

this is my recipe for engine build

brand new p12 block and crank
je 86mm 12.5:1 pistons
eagle h beam rods
acl race bearings
maz worx head stud kit
maz worx main stud kit
n1 water pump
standed head with new seats and guides
sr16ve n1 cams
bc dual springs and titanium retainers
vet metal head gasket
all new timing gear and oil pump
and running my bmw m3 50mm quad throttle bodys
and the new stainless header

rev to 9k limit.unless power drops off.

i might skim the head to bump compression a bit yet.
as we have good fuel here in oz 98 octane

all tuned by the haltech ps1000 ecu

what are peoples thoughts.
