^^^ forgot about that, VE's do have a higher volume pump. Sounds about right then. I wouldnt worry about it unless there is any knocking heard, if not you should be fine.

^^^^ true but he did say he thought it didnt have the power like it did before, so even if the oil problem isnt a problem, that doesnt mean a valve isnt bent or something else.

i would definitly do a compression tet and see what you come up with, to see if mybe your compression is in a cylindr or something along those lines

Oil pressure was about 15-20 before the miss shift

i understand, you said you broke the belt

I'm willing to bet you got a few tweaked valves on your hands. Damn that motor is tough though!! Compression test is virtually free and will let you know right away.

Good luck Dick, sorry to hear about this, this is one of my deepest fears with my car.

Keep us updated.

Are these mis-shifts happening with stock shifters or short throw? I've never had an issue

I'm gonna go a compression test this week but I thought a compression test will not say much if the valves are bent

This mi-shift was with a b15 trans and SMC short throw shifter. The shifter and tranny are new to me and it seems 2nd and 4 are sooooo close together.

a compression test will show if there are problems with your valves. if you want further info do a cylinder leak down test to find out if infact you do have bent valves. will save you some time compaired to pulling the head for a visual inspection. some times bent valves are not easily visable untill they are removed from the head. You can also check vacuum with a gauge and see if there is a fluctuation in readings which can also indicate a valve problem.

Why would the rev limiter prevent the engine from going to 10K when you are down shifting into the wrong gear. The computer doesn't prevent people from being stupid and misshifting ahah.

Sorry hope everything is ok with your computer.
