VE Oil Leak - Need Suggestions..
I recently have acquired sr20ve and found this:

It looks like it is coming from the oil pump (rather than head gasket), what do you suggest I do?

Should I remove the crank pulley, get the oil pump out and clean and reapply sealant to seal the edges properly or is there a pump gasket that I can buy.

Any suggestions would be welcomed.

Thanks.

looks like the rtv gave out at the top of the front cover. you should just be able to r/r or you could take the opportunity to upgrade to a ve pump/cover.

Yup, just reseal it with rtv. You will also need to o-ring oil seals for the pump.

Which o-ring are you referring to?

there is one that meets the crank and I think there is another little one inside the cover you may or may not need.

you might want to think about pulling the head and replacing the HG while the motor is out of the car. I did mine the lazy way and left the head on the first time.I got a pinhole leak from the HG and had to go back and do it over and replace the HG. Just something to think about if you want to play it safe

you can do it without pulling the head too. Look at my thread in the turbo section for my vet build I have a ton of pics there.

i've done it now! I have cracked the cover while trying to remove it - the bottom of the cover is still held by RTV which i cannot seperate due to the compression from the head and upper oil pan - Any ideas how to get it to come out?
Thanks.

make sure you got all of the bolts there are 2 coming down from the head. otherwise it is a straight pull out.

Well I guess I do not have all the bolts, as there are two bolts hidden at the bottom holding the bottom side of the cover. I am not home so cannot inspect it where they are coming from, any suggestions of their location (or pics) would be appreciated.
