I understand what you guys are saying but this is the level where I tell guys they need to have the stomach for the N/A game with the SR20. Yeah, you can make a cheap 190-200whp VE setup with a 100$ header, homemade 3" intake/exhaust, N1 cams, and a tune. What is left after that? A 300$ intake plenum?
Not knocking you guys saying otherwise, I understand 800$ is not something people throw around. Its part of the game though. Save for another month or whatever it takes and buy a decent piece. They took the time to actually R&D a header for us, respect it. It is also the first header they are trying to put into production. Cost of material is not cheap and having someone to make an excellent finished product with a warranty at that, is not going to be cheap. Do not expect insane gains of 20whp from a header change either. Keep in mind especially on a stock longblock VE, there is only so much the motor will respond to.
I will just say, if you are not happy with a 200-215whp car before dishing out decent coin for more power, reevaluate what your goal is, and possibly go boost.
IJS.
