Thread: Why does everyone omit A/C with VVL swap?

There's a couple VVL swapped b14s I'm looking at and neither has a/c. I've also searched for vvl swapped cars in the pass and 100% of the care I've seen had no a/c. I tried searching but I can't find the answer to my question. I'm sure there's some who DD their VVL swapped cars, so why omit A/C?

weight reduction, cleaner bay, easier, less stuff for the engine to run.. take your pick.

i left the a/c on my wifes g20, albeit i've never bothered to get it charged lol.. i also left the a/c on @danfivetens 200sx, once he fixed the hose i broke an charged it, it worked.

I think it's because most of the country enjoys bearable weather... damn I need to fix the A/C in my NX before it gets any hotter

Because "race"car... my vvl p10 had AC until I went turbo and it didn't fit anymore... on most swaps it's totally doable.

i have vvl in my 4 dr with ac and no power steer pump on my block hahahahahah

nearly everyone in aus retains the a/c with their vvl swaps out of necessity. one day last summer we had 47 degrees c (116 f).

some lose it to use the a/c pin out on the ecu for the vvl swap/alternate map switch with a daughterboard like nismotronic etc. others for weight loss. others because of header issues/turbo issues.

begs the question....what other pin outs would someone use to do a vvl change if not the air/cond...egr?

i still have mines and it blows nice cold air.

I left mine in when it was my daily driver and not turbo.

I left mine mine in my daily driven NX. So glad I did because "central" gets pretty damn hot and have a 3 years old. I did loose my power steering though. I regret nothing.

I'm pulling mine out on the weekend. Because QLDER!
