Ve: Rocker arm to roller rocker valvetrain
Hi,

Just wondering whether anyone has converted their Ve to a roller rocker? I thought this was possible due to prior de engines coming out in roller rocker form without too much work.

Less pressure on the valve train as well as allowing us to run higher lifts would greatly benefit these engines , realising a new cam would need to be designed but then we could possibly even start using some of the honda profiles for testing....as much as I hate saying it by why try reinvent the wheel..

Food for thought, any ideas?

So you want to do this just to eliminate the VVL for big cams to use the VE huge ports to flow, correct?

Fast Road, Rally, Race & Turbo Camshafts for Nissan SR20 Roller Rocker Engines.

There are some big cams for RR engine.

Would'nt that be taking a step backwards in regards to the VE???

Would be good to keep vvl function fr drivability etc, but ultimately if the valve train could be efficiently improved as mentioned above I would think the benefits would outway the vvl ? this would applicbale for big hp applications?

I suppose something like that could be done, but you'd have to make your own rockers, and likely have custom cams made to deal with the geometry change.

There is no off the shelf option to K20 our motors (VVL + roller rockers). There is one guy, who made a landspeed record on an NX, he took VE motor and custom made/fitted RR rockers on it. That way you have the VE head flow + low friction of roller rockers.

Thanks you pretty much answered my query. If u can get a bigger cam due to roller rockers then I don't see why this is a bad idea... Just a thought

Mostly $...... If you don't have an issue spending thousands upon thousands of dollars than anything can be done. Personally I don't think that it's worth it but the $ vs. gains would be your call,
