nothing when i got the car. there also wasnt anything on the upper right nipple on the VE Valve cover. so i ran a hose from that nipple to the little nipple.

Ok, well lets verify what you have since my work computer will not load pics. The iacv hose goes underneath the intake, connects to a steel tube, then connect to another hose that goes to the intake pipe. Correct?

The other nipple on the intake pipe should go to the large nipple on the VC, correct?

right. off that steel tube it goes to a large hose that goes from there to the larger of the two nipples on the intake. the little nipple had nothing on it when i got the car as did the large nipple on the VC so i connected those two together. which doing that didnt seem to make a difference at all.

Ok, i went back and reread you previous posts. What is the deal with this hose you were talking about? I looked at my ve and didnt see anything.

"theres a hose that goes from the back of the engine underneath the fuel rail area that goes to the intake."

thats the iacv one. i was just generalizing there. it is right under the intake mani coming off of the steel tube.

on the intake pipe for a VE you only need 2 ports, 1 going to the valve cover and 1 going to the IACV which is that one that finds its way by the fuel rail an such an goes into the iacv..

you should start by getting a REAL intake cause that thing is janky.. as for the suction noise, thats normal..

then i'd look into the maf wiring, maybe something isnt right with the step down.. did you make it or buy it from jktuning?

the reason it runs like shit with that hose unplugged is because your basically bypassing the maf an running on a huge vacuum leak lol.

Ok, cool. Now lets cover our basics. Have you driven this car before, or is it a new install? Are you positive you set timing and idle?

Thats what i thought on the hoses. thats how the VE in my nx was. I've double checked the maf wiring and it is correct. We checked the MAF voltage but we checked it with the car off. i am going to double check it with the car on and see if it is over 1. I bought the stepdown from jktuning. and going by cliff's diagram, the pins on the harness check out.

i bought the car from Ben and it was parked. he ran it fine with this setup (minus the ECU). he had a calum basic on the car then a nistune and both worked ok. when he parked the car he sold the ecu out so i had to get that. i got a obd1 chipped from JKTuning.
