Budget Clutch Setup Question
I was searching clutch setups for the VE and saw alot about the Act pressure plate and a B15 disk. What if I inverted that by using a B15 pressure plate and and Act street disk. It's a budget setup for sure but would it be sufficient for a VE with stock cams? I'm trying to stretch my dollars and pick up as many used bits and pieces as I can. Thanks for any input.

all motor ve dont worry about it. a stock clutch would do the job. im using an exedy stage one and it hold my 212whp and 152wtq just fine with slicks....

+1 don't underestimate the Exedy stg1. I run one on my VE, and also on my DET that was in my 240SX at 275whp for 3 years without a problem.

How does your stocker look? What parts do you currently have? If you need a new disc a B15 disc will be a good cheap one to run. Also I have a used stock clutch assy I can give you if you want it. It came off a 10:1 engine and held perfectly.

Hey Benito,
I am awaiting the B15 pressure plate in the mail. The Act street disk turned out to be an older Exedy that came in an Act clutch package. The disk looks alright but isn't perfect. It was on a turbo'd car for a few thousand miles and it wasn't holding like he would have liked so it's a touch beat up. Here's the link with a blurry pic. http://www.sr20forum.com/naturally-aspirated-performance-parts/231799-n-turbo-parts.html
What do you think? I'd hate to get one or the other in and then have to pull the tranny again.

BTW, did you get a chance to throw the Hyperco's on after your trip East?

I just got back. I need to get a few people to test drive the old rig then I'll throw those on. If I were you I'd think about getting something new in there.

Did you order B15 pp or disc? B15 disc is the upgraded piece. I believe the pp is the same.

B15 Pressure plate sucks, only the disk is good.

Get JWT pp and B15 disc and enjoy the feel of the clutch.
