Hi Digitek have you tested or know the gains on the regular tube 4-2-1 vs. the Big tube 4-2-1

320 psi is a lot!! Are the 16VE pistons modified(notched, skimmed) at all? Also, are you running with race gas? Sorry if it has been answered already.

They are OEM regular 16ve pistons not modified.

I ran the same engine setup on my B14 with pump 91 oct and a Bit less Timing with 215 whp.


The B13 is still running a safe tune since its for road racing but it can still hold more timing and a/f putting it around 225-228 whp area.

Are you saying you ran a 13:1 Cr motor on 91 octane without issues? How often did you drive/race it? How long did the motor last?

It is a bit more than 13:1 and yes this is not an isolated build or case.
plenty of cars running on 16v pistons and 91 oct locally. Its all in the tune.

Dang, wish I could hang out with you guys for a week or two......would have some serious fun & soak up a bunch of knowledge too.

Man..and i was told here in Cali that you couldnt run Sr16 pistons on 91...can u give me some info on your tune? Im currently running a Calum Realtime tuning with Tuner Pro...i will also be installing my AEM series 2 soon.

Well Its a bit more complicated than just placing some "tune" or numbers every car reacts a bit different. And we get them fine tuned and still you can get some knock sometimes depending weather conditions, load and gas quality from different 91 oct sources.

We try to mix good gas when we go to the tracks with them.

I would suggest you guys that if you want a reliable a stronger daily driver on 91 oct stick to no higher than 12:1 comp. And try and give it some good dyno fine tuning.

It is very easy to run 13:1 on 91 octane Plenty of people here run it you need a good tuner and a good reliable source of pump gas~~
