What's the benefits of using the VE MAF? Besides being able to run a 3" intake. Also I will have to use some sorta reprogrammed ECU in order to use it? I am currently using my de MAF for now.

Yes you will need the ecu to be reprogrammed if you switch from a DE maf to a different one(ve, n60, e60, z32 etc).

just to be sure, didnt we decide a few years ago that cold air intake wasnt worth it? my memory isnt what it used to be lol

I've always preferred the warm air set up. Looks fancier and don't need to cut a hole into the body of the car.

cold air on vvl sounds nasty!!! when high cams come on... that's about it pretty sure that's why we all use jwt or blox or bpi v stacks...
