Thread: Head noise, checked shim clearances...need advice

Mine is doing the same thing after CAM install. Still trying to figure it out....

I have been ve-t over a year now, and it has def gotten louder in the last couple months ive been driving it. The noise is what made me think the shims were out of spec.

I'm wondering if maybe it isn't top end noise your hearing ..

I removed and measured all my shims one at a time,per cylinder and everything was within spec and reseated...not sure how yours didnt seat correctly?!? glad you got it fixed.

I probably just fucked up as usual. Dude, I can fuck up putting tire shine on my tires.

For some reason I can do a head gasket on VE but somehow I didn't seat 1 single frikkin' shim correctly. Ridiculous I know. I first thought it was an injector because I used a scope and it didn't sound like it was coming from under the valve cover, but it was as we now know.

Ok I just watched the video, that sounds NOTHING like the clicking noise mine was making with the shim not seated. My sound was more like if you took two pencils and hit them against each other hard and rapidly. It was distinctive. Yours isn't.
