I thought this was covered in the past as a no no, but might be propohating. I used a wire splicer by the ecu. Clean, efficient, never dropped a signal once.

Though this might be a no no too, never had an issue so....

This works fine but is way more work then just tapping into the ecu harness plus I have seen the tach signal on both b13/14 be 200-500 rpms off. I would not use this method to source your tach signal.

So this will not work on a 91 or 92?

I know on my 91 and I believe on my 94 cluster there is a potentiometer that can adjust the rpms of your tach. You just need to take the tach out of the cluster. I did this when I went ve and the tach was dead on till almost 9000 rpms
