So according to Shawn Church tuning, there is a reduction of WHP between a Dyno Pack and Dynojet. He explains it here.
A comparative example for the same car on a Dynapack and Dynojet.

Car A produces 205 hp to the hubs on the Dynapack. This would equate to between 225-230 hp at the flywheel. The same car produces 195 hp to the rollers on a Dynojet. This would equate to 222-226 hp at the flywheel. Furthermore, the difference in power matches up very well with our calculated difference due to inertial losses. And interestingly enough, we have tested just such a car on our Dynapack and a Dynojet back to back with the same results (actually 196 vs. 206 hp).

Let us then assume that we modify Car A to produce 25 hp more at the flywheel (maybe a good head port and set of camshafts). The car would now produce almost 230 hub hp on the Dynapack, but on the Dynojet it would produce 217.5 hp. Same car, but the difference between the two dynos has grown from 10 to 12.5 hp, largely due to inertial effects.

So in essence, i am doing roughly 195+/-Whp which should be putting me on par with my bolt ons. I drove the car today to give another feel for it. (got the axle fixed). It still feels really linear..but the abrupt speed is or the feel of speed isn't as explosive as before. It's smoother and more civil. It just doesn't feel as fast. Could it be because it is smoother, it's fooling me to think it isn't as fast? The dyno proves there is an improvement from 172-195..it just doesn't feel as "fast" anymore. I also noticed that when i press on the gas, it doesn't rev as fast either..

5speed's car did 217whp@ church but 197whp on Reggies dyno Jet.

i had n issue with my car feeling slower after tuning but proved otherwise on the "track"..... its due to the curve being so smooth. i say line up with a friend that u usually run with n see for urself.... if u have a track time then it would be good to revisit it [the track] again

It looks to me like the first two dyno runs showed the cams were switching too early, and the last run has the later switch point which got rid of the dip.

Or maybe the lower traces are data from the old cams, and then the smoother trace is from the N1 cams?

Hey OP, can you explain the three traces? When they each were logged, and what cams were in at the time?

They were all with the same cams on the same day with teh smoothest one with out the dip being the final pull with the N1's. The bin i had 1st was not a tuned bin, hence the dip then he started improving from there..

Do you know if that dip was tuned out by moving the cam switching point higher?

I believe it was both raising the switch from 4500 and the tune. I asked if the switch needed to be raised and was told it already was..i kinda thought it should have been higher myself..but i didn't question him. I know nothing about tuning so i went with what he said.

i just recently had N1's installed and i also had the same reaction as far as the car not feeling explosive like i thought it would be but i know the power is there and it is much smoother than before but our setups differ a bit. when you test drive the car by yourself its hard to tell an improvement unless its a big mod but run someone u've ran before at a track and you should see a difference.
