Thread: what is the most popular ecu for b13 with vvl?

i installed my vvl in august of 2011 and it has been running really good since then, i had some issues with my trans that i finally resolved in the past month and now i am thinking i need to upgrade my ecu to unleash the engines true potential. I have read some post and am thinking of ordering a nistune ecu but would like some input on what the community is using.

Nismotronic is the only option out there right now that really lets you tune the care in the upper RPM ranges. The feature set is worth well above what they are selling them for.

I went to their website to check it out and it seems perfect for what I'm looking for but the only thing is which one to buy. Would I need the b13 chipped for 200 or since I already have the b13 ecu could I get something less. Not trying to be to cheap but would love to be able to spend money on other stuff too. I still to get a header and new piping to the rear.

Get the nismotronic/jktuning ecu. For 200 bucks it is a great deal. Dont be cheap, youll get better results from the ecu than the ebay header.

If I were you i would get the realtime. $550 is a lot up front but you will be able to change and adjust the tune as you go. With the basic you have to burn chips with every change, the burner is $80.
