I also wanted to say, quite clearly, that this is quite an involving project.
1) New SR20VE metal head gasket from Greg ($75)
2) New head OEM SR20 head studs ($50)
3) New spark plugs, new Mobil1 oil and filter, coolant, and new valve cover gasket (around $90)
4) Shop clean up costs for the hot tanking and resurfacing head ($100)
5) Polished head
Luckily most of the hard labor I was able to do myself. A local shop wanted, get this $1,200 to change just the head gasket. I said "uhh ok thanks, we'll be in touch." LOL. Instead I found a friend who could do it in storage with me. Much better. And I decided to stick with the original VE intake manifold. Greg suggested I get the the P11 intake manifold with some random other parts too, but it was like $360+ shipping. God Bless him, but that would have doubled the total price.
Ahh well. I expect to have the car back together in about a week.
