Don't drive the car until you fix WHAT? That's what I don't understand. Is there a way to stop a bad head gasket from going other than not driving it? Sure, there's those bottles at Advanced Auto for $22 that say "head gasket fix" lol. :nightmare:

But seriously, a plane in the air with no engines is doomed already. Just a matter of time.

I wired 2 new radiator fans to a switch in the cabin, I did 2 coolant flushes etc. Besides I hardly ever drove it and this had the original head gasket on it.. it was junk. I wish I took a better pic of it. This new one from Greg is thicker, and may cost me a bit of power, but less likely to blow out. plus three angle valve job and port and polish with a bench.

another photo, pre cleanup:

The head is currently being resurfaced for the new metal head gasket.

I'm debating on upgrading to this while I have it all apart: G Spec Performance - Plenum Kit, VVL (P11)

The head gasket is the result, not the source of the problem no?

I dunno. I have had some overheating problems since I got the car back in April of last year. It's possible I guess that the fan(s) not coming on had something to do with it. The first overheating problem I had was last July when it was like 100 degrees outside and it started to overheat. I don't know if the fans worked or not, but I got it to cool down after awhile. Then it was fine for a long time, then would randomly do it here and there.

Thanks. Here's a shot of some of the valves out. We are resurfacing and doing all that kinda good stuff. They were actually in pretty good shape before, but as you can see by the before and after photos, not all was
