Why? Such a waste of time. Please go return it.

Then maybe a run without an air filter at all. Then I'd like to bump the timing just a tad.

I have another question, is it "cheating" if I put in a can of octane booster?

You should make a run with the timing a few degree's lower also, not just a few degree's higher. You might be suprised

Ok so here's the deal right now.

A couple of you told me to ditch the CAI setup I had, which consisted of these two 3" pipes connected together:
.
.

.
.

installed this way on the motor (air filter just out of the photo right below):
.
.

.
.
Here is a photo of the actual piece as I was removing it:
.
.

Now the car is setup like this, aka warm air setup:
.
.

.
.

I just went for a drive....and I think it sucks. I really do. I just went on a drive and it's different. It sounds about the same, but I couldn't spin the tires in 2nd like normal on the same stretch of road where I usually punch it.

So why am I writing all this? Well, because the whole deal with this thread is, we *could* find out tomorrow since I'm going to make dyno runs with the WAI setup as it is now, and then do CAI runs. And a buncha other changes, but I'm now very interested in the WAI vs CAI setup.

My bet is the CAI makes a bunch more peak HP. I've been driving this car for almost a year after I installed it, I know how it feels up top and it felt lackluster just now driving. I dunno. I know "butt dyno" is notoriously unreliable..

When u make your first run with the cold air keep the hood closed. When u do the warm air keep the hood closed too.

Gotcha. Thanks for the tip.

Not so sure how you will be able to determine which is better given that on most dynos you will have fan blowing air onto motor anyways.

Peace
